Provisional Psychologist

About

A Provisional Psychologist is someone who has completed a 4 year undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Psychology, who are now receiving supervised experience in order to gain the qualification of a Registered Psychologist. Their role is therefore similar to that of a Registered Psychologist, however with the notation that they are still receiving comprehensive supervision that is a part of their training.

As with Registered Psychologists, Provisional Psychologists must be registered members of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA - which ensures that they uphold their code of ethics and demonstrate continued learning in the area). The are also required to obtain Criminal History clearances and Working with Children checks.
